Nathan M. Gillette, AIA, LEED-AP O+M, CEMPresident
Nate is the President of Natura Architectural Consulting, LLC. His main responsibilities are the day to day operations of the company and business development. Nate is the senior reviewer for all energy audits, LEED submittals, property condition assessments and construction loan monitoring projects. He is responsible for working with clients to successfully implement and manage energy efficiency, sustainability, and air infiltration testing projects.

Prior to starting Natura, Nate was a practicing Architect in the real estate development and design/build fields. He has over fifteen years of experience in the architectural and construction fields. He is a licensed Architect in multiple states, a LEED O+M Accredited professional, and a Certified Energy Manager with extensive experience in the sustainable design field. Nate has completed numerous LEED projects in LEED-NC, LEED-EBOM, LEED-CI, LEED-CS, and LEED for Homes. He is a Federally Certified Historic Preservation Architect and has won numerous awards for his designs. Adaptive reuse projects have been a specialty in Nate’s practice and he has a particular interest in turning historic buildings into high performance energy efficient structures without compromising historic character.

While a member of many different professional organizations, Nate is a Past-President of the Grand Rapids Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and was a member of the ASTM Workgroup that developed the E2797-11 Standard for Building Energy Performance Analysis Disclosure in Real Estate Transactions. He is a current committee member of the ASTM E2018 Property Condition Assessment reauthorization. He is an active member of the West Michigan and Illinois chapters of the U.S. Green Building Council. Nate is also a writer who has been published in many different magazines and blogs and currently serves as contributing author and editorial advisory board member for Retrofit Magazine. Nate received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan and a Master of Architecture degree from the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia.

When he isn’t working (which isn’t often), Nate has a passion for collecting baseball memorabilia of the Detroit Tigers. He has a signed baseball from every member of the 1984 World Series team and is currently working on the 1968 World Series team (He has 6 to go!)

Tammy Gillette
Tammy GilletteVice President
Tammy is Natura’s Vice President and heart and soul of the operation. She runs most of the behind the scenes operations at Natura and keeps the company running like a Swiss clock. Beyond the day to day operations of the business she jumps in to help on projects as needed and is also a State of Michigan licensed Lead Inspector.

When she isn’t in the office Tammy is mom to three boys, two of which are in college and one on the way. During most weekends in the summer you can find her camping enjoying the Michigan outdoors.

Ryan Garone
Ryan GaroneVP of Development for Datum Point Real Estate Development.
Ryan is a partner in NAC’s sister company Datum Point Real Estate Development. Ryan has a background in Architect with a degree from Lawrence Tech. University in Southfield.

When he isn’t busy helping keep Datum Point’s projects on track, he’s the dad of two school age kids that keep him running in all directions.

Casey Gerken
Casey GerkenSenior Architectural Consultant
Casey is Natura’s Manager of Construction Loan Monitoring. He is continually working to build and develop relationships with lenders, developers and contractors. Casey is also involved with conducting Property Condition Assessments and Capital Needs Assessments and continues to seek education and expand his skills set.

Before joining Natura, Casey worked as a designer and fabricator in the commercial sign industry and a project manager and estimator in the commercial door and hardware industry. He was responsible for managing accounts for multiple national retail store chains as well as working with many local contractors.

Casey has 20 years of experience in the commercial construction field. He has been involved in numerous local, regional and national level construction projects. Casey studied architecture in college before obtaining his Bachelor Degree from Kendall College of Art and Design in Industrial Design.

In his free time, Casey enjoys being a husband, father to his two children, bassist in his band, Kill All Control, which has toured and recorded multiple albums and playing as much golf as possible.

Sean
SeanArchitectural Consultant
Sean is one of Natura’s jack of all trades Architectural Consultants. Sean is heavily involved with conducting Property Condition Assessments and Capital Needs Assessments as well as Construction progress monitoring and continues to seek education and expand his skills set.

Before joining Natura, Sean was a builder and even a grade school teacher! He is constantly working to help Natura refine it’s processes and procedures.

Casey has 10 years of experience in the commercial construction field. He has been involved in many local, regional and national level construction projects and capital needs assessments.

In his free time, Sean enjoys hiking, camping, biking, and being outdoors as much as possible.
